Good to know

What is time blocking?

Time blocking is a planning method where you split your day into blocks of time and give each block one task or one type of work. Instead of working from an open-ended to-do list, you decide in advance when each thing will get done.

It forces you to be realistic about how much fits in a day, protects your focus time from interruptions, and shows you afterwards where your time really went.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long should a time block be?

For focused work, 60–120 minutes works well. For shallow work like email, 15–30 minutes is usually enough. Use the 15 or 30-minute setting if you want finer control.

What do the colours mean?

Use them to see the balance of your day at a glance: focus work, meetings, admin, breaks and personal time. The summary below the template adds up the time per category.

Can I print the template?

Yes. Click “Print / save as PDF” to print just the planner, or save it as a PDF from the print dialog.

Can I time block in Google, Outlook or iCloud Calendar instead?

Yes — with Planzer.io you drag tasks straight into Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar or iCloud Calendar, or let “Plan it for me” place them in the free slots between your meetings.
